He has long researched precision transmission & manufacturing, numerical control technology, and face gear transmission, having presided over key national/ministerial projects (National Natural Science Foundation of China, National 863 Program, etc.), held multiple national invention patents, published over 40 papers and 3 monographs. His in-depth studies cover gear cutting, meshing performance, high-speed gear vibration, stress calculation/testing, dynamic friction-lubrication under complex conditions, and special gear machine tools; he has developed unique strengths in gear transmission, friction-lubrication, precision manufacturing and numerical control, with research results applied in engines and helicopter transmission systems. He has won second-class science and technology progress awards from China National Aviation Corporation and Beihang University, a third-class award from Shenyang Municipal Government, supervised over 30 postgraduates (mostly key researchers in military-industrial institutes), and established good cooperation with major domestic/foreign transmission research institutions.
